Set Up Dependent Picklists

Learn how to create dependent picklists in Navatar to control the available values in one picklist based on the selection made in another. This helps streamline data entry and improve accuracy.

Step 1: Log in to your Navatar Account

Log in to Navatar using your Admin credentials.

Step 2: Go to Setup

Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Setup.

Step 3: Choose the Object

In Object Manager, select the object (e.g., Account, Deal, Contact) where you want to create the dependent picklist.

Step 4: Identify or Create the Fields

  • Create or locate the Controlling Field (Picklist or Checkbox field).

  • Create or locate the Dependent Field (Picklist field).

Ensure both fields exist before setting the dependency.

Step 5: Create a Field Dependency

  • In the object's Fields & Relationships section, click Field Dependencies.

  • Click the New button.

Step 6: Define the Dependency

  • Select the Controlling Field and the Dependent Field.

  • Click Continue.

Step 7: Map the Values

  • A dependency matrix will appear.

  • Select which dependent picklist values should be available for each controlling field value.

  • Click Save once mappings are complete.

Step 8: Add Fields to Page Layout

Ensure that both the controlling and dependent fields are added to the appropriate page layouts for user access.
