How to change decimal value of a field

Updated over 3 months ago

This article explains how users can change the decimal value of a field in Salesforce via Navatar. Decimal formatting controls how numeric data is displayed, and adjusting it can help align field precision with business requirements (e.g., changing a field to show two decimal places instead of four).

  1. Log in to the Navatar account using Admin credentials

  2. Navigate to Setup: Click on the gear icon from the top right and select "Setup"

  3. Go to Object Manager: In the Quick Find box, type "Object Manager" and select it.

  4. Find the Object: Select the object that contains the field you want to change.

  5. Find the field: Search the field and click on Edit button & scroll down to the Number/Percent Options section.

  6. Set Decimal Places: Enter the desired number of decimal places in the "Decimal Places" field.

Note: The maximum total digit limit (including before and after the decimal) is 18.

  7. Click on Save button to save the changes.
